DAYS 1 & 2 GOODBYE CANADA, YASSAS GREECE!

Enjoy a private car ride to the airport. Fly to Athens where you’ll meet your Group Guru and fellow travellers in the edgy Mediterranean capital that has given the world the gift of philosophy, mathematics, democracy and the Olympics, not to mention flaky, delicious feta cheese. Upon your arrival, settle into your hotel and take a nice long shower. Set out on a walk to discover the city, then enjoy a welcome cocktail before dinner to kick off your journey into Greek gastronomy. Overnight in Athens. (D)

DAY 3 DISCOVER ATHENS

Day dedicated to discovering Athens, including the main monuments of the Hellenic capital. Visit the Parthenon, the Erechtion, the Propylaea, the Acropolis as well as its new museum. In the afternoon, continue with a panoramic tour that includes the Panathinaikos stadium, Hadrian’s Arch, Syntagma square, and the National Library. Overnight in Athens. (B,L,D) View image gallery

DAY 4 MONASTERIES OF METEORA (256 KM)

Travel north to Thessaly to discover the monasteries of Meteora. Spectacularly perched on thin vertical hilltop pillars, these magnificent structures contain unique Byzantine works of art and are still inhabited by Greek Orthodox monks. Along the way, stop at Thermopylae to see the statue of Leonidas (King of Sparta), commemorating the epic battle of 300. In the afternoon, visit two Monasteries and fall in love with the view from these floating havens. Continue to Kalambaka for the night. (B,L,D) View image gallery

DAY 5 DELPHI’S ORACLES (279 KM)

Drive to central Greece to discover Delphi, home of the Greek gods. Here, you will admire the Sanctuary of Apollo, walk the Sacred way, and visit the temple of Apollo, home of Pythia (the oracle). Visit the Delphi Archaeological Museum to view the Charioteer of Delphi and the Sphinx of Naxos. Overnight in Delphi. (B,L,D) View image gallery

DAY 6 ROAD TO KEFALONIA (FERRY) (201 KM)

Scenic drive along the Corinthian gulf before stoping in the picturesque seaside town of Nafpaktos. Cross the impressive Rio-Antorio bridge, the longest hanging bridge in Europe, then, onto the port of Kyllini for a ferry ride to the dreamy island of Kefalonia. Let the island’s zig-zagging coastline, electric blue skies and fragrant alleyways inspire you. Overnight in Kefalonia. (B,L,D) View image gallery

DAY 7 THE ISLAND OF KEFALONIA

Nestled between the Ionian and Mediterranean seas, Kefalonia is one of the most beautiful islands in Greece. Morning tour of the island, featuring laid-back Argostoli, the Aenos mountain, and the Melissani Caves. This afternoon, head towards the north of the island to Fiscardo, one of the most picturesque villages of Kefalonia. Stop along the way to admire the white pebble shoreline of Myrtos beach. DAY 8 ANCIENT OLYMPIA

Cross into the Peloponnese peninsula to reach the archaeological site of Olympia, birthplace of the Olympics. You will visit the ancient stadium and see the location where the torch is initially lit prior to each Olympic game. End the day with a visit of the Archaeological Museum. Overnight in Olympia. DAY 9 EXPLORE THE ARGOLIS PENINSULA (218 KM)

Excursion day on the Argolis Peninsula. Our first stop of the day is at an olive oil producer where you’ll taste some of its finest products. DAY 10 FROM NAFPLIO TO SANTORINI (FLIGHT) (170 KM)

Visit the Mycenean Acropolis to vist the tomb of Agamemnon and the famous Lion’s Gate before continuing to the Athens airport to fly to Santorini. Free time to settle in and to begin exploring this slice of heaven at your own pace. Overnight in Santorini. (B,L,D) View image gallery

DAY 11 EXPLORE SANTORINI

A day devoted to exploring the dazzling island of Santorini, queen of the Aegean. Guided visit of the picturesque village of Akrotiri, followed by a visit to Fira for lunch, then Oia, a sanctuary of calm and tranquility. Continue to Pyrgos, on a more secluded side of the island, where you will partake in a Greek wine tasting experience. Overnight in Santorini. (B,L,D) View image gallery

DAY 12 MYKONOS & AN AEGEAN SUNSET (FERRY)

Wake up to an unforgettable sunrise and enjoy breakfast at your own laid-back pace, before boarding the ferry for Mykonos, a mythical island frequented by the rich and famous. DAY 13 RELAXING IN MYKONOS

Mykonos is meant for lingering, and that is exactly what we’ll do! Enjoy a free day in the prettiest of settings: white houses with blue shutters, sandy beaches and sunny terraces. DAY 14 SCENIC FERRY TO ATHENS

Starry-eyed, say goodbye to your fellow travellers who opted out of our included group flights and make your way to the airport to embark on your return flight(s) from Athens to Canada.
