Morocco was a great experience. I had a fantastic time, we were well taken care of. To many shopping trips, would have liked more free time. A number of the group missed days because they were sick, possible food poisoning,(we saw raw chicken on skewers). A number of the group missed days because they were sick, possible food poisoning,(we saw raw chicken on skewers). I had an upset stomach one day but I have a cast-iron gut, others were VERY sick, missing 2-3 days of the tour.
The stay in the desert was great but we did a lot of driving on the day trips, a long way for lunch. Some of the desert drivers didn't speak any English at all.
I don't think we needed 3 meals a day, lunch could have been quick stop in the markets at local street venders. Abdul marched us through some places at a fast pace, would have liked to move more casually, looking at shops with my fellow travellers.
One hotel didn't reflect the Approach Tours standard of excellence, that was the stay at the Riad Al Madina Essaouira Hotel, the rooms were not clean, hair in my bed, around the toilet and in the shower, floors were dirty. Seem like the staff were overwhelmed by the large group, breakfast was poor but the rooftop patio was a great place to relax, but the hotel was not made for a group of 24+ tourist, I did like the idea of staying inside the madina, I felt safe wandering on my own.
Our guru was great!
National guide was good.
Bus driver was skilled and a very safe driver, very friendly.
The group of 24 was a perfect size, we became friends and some remain so.
I would recommend Approach Tours to friends.
