Enchanting Portugal

This trip was absolutely amazing fully packed with an endless amount of tours, free time. Interesting sites excellent touring with a very well rounded tour, Director and tour guide who had an incredible knowledge on everything we were going to see what we were going to do and just the history of Portugal. The hotels were excellent very well located great service and the meals were unbelievable! Our bus was excellent. Our on-site tour person, Clara was phenomenal for her knowledge, her direction guidance, and enjoyable to be around.
I’m not a huge group tour person, but this was just so much fun and so well organized. It changed my opinion! Highly highly recommended.

Everything about this adventure to Portugal was magnificent. The views, the people. Our group guru, Sue and our local guide, Idalhia were terrific. I loved the all-inclusive benefits. Nothing to worry about or plan. It’s all taken care of. My first group trip was a no brainer, and I’ve already booked Greece for next year.

We had the pleasure of checking off one of our most important bucket list destinations with our recent “Enchanting Portugal” trip. It went above our expectations. We traveled the length of Portugal and to the most westerly point of continental Europe. The last thousand years of what is now modern-day Portugal was portrayed to us through castles, churches, monasteries, city avenues and narrow sloped streets. Our engaging trip Guru, Stacey, made every day run smoothly from hotels to meals to excursions. Our Portuguese Tour Guide, Augusta, was a treasure trove of knowledge and her humorous storytelling kept us fully engaged. My spouse and I were very pleased with our choice of Approach Tours, and have already promoted it to friends.

We had the best time. Kathleen and our local guide Judithe kept us on the move. We saw things you likely wouldn’t see if you travel to Portugal on your own. Take the plunge and enjoy group travel with Approach tours.

Portugal was magnificent in the sites and architecture that we experienced. Our international tour guide was a walking book of knowledge and our Approach Guru took care of all our needs and extra interests we had. Everything was professionally done by Judite and Kathleen. All the travellers were caring and pleasant and our bus drivers were tremendous. I would recommend this tour to one and all.

Group Guru, Christiane, provided daily updates and always with a smile. Our local guide was knowledgeable, entertaining and patient. Add Portugal to your list, you won’t have any regrets.

Highlights included the boat tour in Lagos; experiencing grilled sardines, a day of rest by the beach; Aveiro, the University of Coimbra; Port & wine tastings; Nazaré was beautiful, Palácio Nacional & Cabo da Roca. All of Lisbon was a pleasure. The people in the group were fantastic. Diana was masterful in making us feel at ease, included and valued. She made a point of connecting, supporting, and ensuring we had fun. We would definitely travel with Diana and Approach again.

As first-time travellers with Approach Tours we were very impressed with the overall service. Hotel quality, three meals a day, transportation, luggage handling, excellent guides and tour guru, variety in cities… everything was phenomenal!

Caroline made this tour for me. She is competent, friendly, and fun. I also appreciated the “extras” that were purchased by Approach en route. Other tours did not often do that. Jorge was a very knowledgeable guide. He is a wealth of information about his country and its history. You can’t go wrong working with him.

The wine tasting, lunch, and tour of the port wine facility were great! I thought it could not be surpassed, but the next day in Tomar honestly blew me away – just spectacular. Then we had a couple of relaxing days in Evora – which was great timing.

Lisbon tour (old Portugal) was great; Sintra town was wonderful. Boat rides were all good (all 3 of them!) – even though I get seasick, I enjoy all of them very much! We enjoy the pace – enough time to recover between trips. All-inclusive idea was great with exclusive visits. The winery on the Douro Valley was wonderful. Good job!

Douro wine tasting and lunch definitely were a highlight. Algarve sea tour was excellent. Our tour group of people were wonderful and I felt very fortunate to meet such a great group of people. I wouldn’t change anything. Will definitely be recommending Approach to friends and family.

Wine tasting in Porto, and in the Algarve, the Templar Church in Tomar, all the monuments… truly it is the variety that makes the tour so wonderful. Marie Claude was exceptional. Very attentive, kind, and organized. She really made the whole trip.

We especially liked the trip to Sintra, the Knights Templar & the wineries in the Douro area. The lunch at the one winery was exceptional! The daily scheduling was great – not too strenuous with good start times!

Just returned from Portugal with Approach Tours and it was AMAZING!!!! The ALL-INCLUSIVE package made everything worry-free from the airport transfers, flights, meals, attractions, and assistance with options for free time. All we had to do was pack! The upscale hotels were conveniently located for “free time” exploration and the meals were sensational (you will never go hungry)! The itinerary allowed for sufficient aside from exploring the many wonders of the area. Our guide, Alexandra was FANTASTIC! Her knowledge of Portugal and her storytelling ability made history come alive! She was also EXCEPTIONAL at adapting to the needs of the group. Portugal is so much more than just Lisbon (not to take anything away from the city which we LOVED). However, the rest of the country has so much diversity to offer and it is absolutely safe wherever you travel. We will definitely return to Portugal again in the future as we now have more of a comfort level with the various areas. Thank you Approach Tours. Looking forward to South Africa in the spring!
